Getting the Right Fit for your Jeans

It’s not always easy finding the right pair of men’s jeans. Most men would rather have a root canal then spend all day trying on jeans. Regardless, you can find a great pair of jeans by keeping some of these male fashion tips in mind. The right style and the perfect fit are the two main elements to look for when searching for the ultimate pair of men’s jeans.

Pick a pair of jeans with some style. Even if you’re looking for more classic styles of jeans doesn’t mean you have to pick a boring pair of jeans. Subtle, classic looks can still have some elements of fashion. To look your best in jeans, stay away from jeans with tight fits toward the bottom of the leg, tapered pant legs or the wide bell-bottomed look. A good choice is straight leg or boot cut jeans.

No matter how fashionable the jeans are, if the fit is wrong for your body, they won’t look stylish on you. In order to get a good fit, first make sure the legs, crotch and waist areas of the jeans are not too tight. You should also see if they look good from all angles (including from behind.) Remember, if you’re not sure about the fit of your jeans, try other fashionable styles of men’s jeans as well.
Because jeans have a tendency to shrink, it’s not a good idea to get just the right length. Buying jeans longer than necessary gives you the opportunity to fold them over or make any desired alterations. The best way to test the worth of your new jeans is to put them through a trial run. Walk around the store wearing the men’s jeans and check the pocket space and your level of comfort when sitting down. Is there room for your keys and wallet? Will they be itchy or too warm for certain seasons?

You should also make sure to try the jeans on with accessories such as the belt you wear the most. This will show you where the waist of the  jeans falls on you, if the jeans match your belt and if the loops can hold your belt properly.
Last but not least try on jeans with the shoes that you wear most often; keep in mind that the colors should match and you want to know how the pants fall as well. If the jeans are too long, fold them over to approximate how they would look once hemmed. Remember, the back cuff should be aligned with the top part of the sole.
